The newly qualified apprentices include two plumbers, joiners and gas engineers. Since finishing their apprenticeships, they have all been successful in gaining full time jobs with us.

Like their predecessors, the new starters will combine on the job learning with attendance at college to complete an NVQ in their chosen trade.

Niall Mckevitt successfully applied for a KNH apprenticeship this year. He says, “I wanted to be an apprentice because you earn money while you are learning and also because it is a good way of learning a wide range of skills that not only apply to your work life but also to your personal life.

“Once my apprenticeship is over, I hope to become fully qualified and gain experience in different fields before progressing through the company.”

Speaking about the apprentices, KNH Chief Executive, Liz Cook said: “As more and more young people are looking at apprenticeships as an alternative to traditional further education, we want to make sure that we’re providing opportunities that nurture local talent and help develop a diverse, skilled workforce.

“I’d like to congratulate all those who have completed their training and wish our new starters all the best as they take their first steps towards exciting new careers.”
