Are you a mum living in Kirklees? Can you spare three hours or more a week?
Auntie Pam’s is a pregnancy support service, with centres in Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Through their volunteers, they offer support about a range of issues including pregnancy, health, housing, relationship issues and benefits; there’s also a clothing swap shop and equipment store.
Could you be an Aunty Pam's volunteer?
To help even more women, Auntie Pam’s is recruiting new volunteers. As a peer support volunteer you will be first point of contact for women coming into the Auntie Pam’s centre and outreach bases in Kirklees. You’ll be working in a small team to share experiences and provide support to mums-to-be. It’s about being there to listen and sharing your own experiences of being a mother – but there’s also training, which may be useful if you’re looking to get back to work or move into a different job.
If you’re interested in becoming a Pam’s volunteer, visit the website for more information - http://www.auntiepams.org.uk or give them a ring on 01924 438316 (Mon/Wed/Fri) or 01484 414775 (Tues/ Wed/Thurs).
If you’re pregnant or a new mum and could use someone to talk to, get in touch with Aunty Pam’s.
