Local residents and children joined forces with KNH and council cleansing staff last week, when they organized a major clean-up on the Eastborough estate in Dewsbury.
Children and young people did a litter pick, paths were cleared and hedges were cut back. In total, over three tonnes of rubbish were collected.

All the hard work was rewarded with a gala in the afternoon, with a bouncy castle and face painting. Everyone then enjoyed pizza, courtesy of the local tenants’ and residents’ association.
One of the organizers, Naseem Akram, chair of the association, said:
“Although the weather was a bit wet and miserable, it didn’t dampen our spirits and everyone who took part had a good time
“We all worked together really well and it was great to be able to see that we had made a difference.
“We would like to thank all the agencies that supported us in this, especially the KNH staff for motivating us and making this happen”
