Looking for work or training?

Release Date: 10-Feb-2014
If you want to improve your skills or find work, KNH has a specialist team of outreach workers who provide advice and support to unemployed KNH tenants.
The team visit tenants in their own homes to look at how they can become job-ready and improve their chances of finding work.

To date, the team has helped 114 people find jobs, with another 310 taking part in training.

Two of those helped are Ashley Randle and Antony Docherty from Lowerhouses, who are working on an environmental scheme in Primrose Hill, Huddersfield with local firm Landscape Architects.

Two other residents, Ryan Gilroy and Rodwell Khumalo, are volunteering with Gecko Property Solutions on a project in Lowerhouses. All four are receiving training and learning new skills that will help them in their future job searches.

According to Ashley “I’ve enjoyed putting my college training into practice and gaining experience on site.” Anthony agrees, saying, “It’s been great finding a new job in something I enjoy doing, and I really appreciate all the help KNH has given me and the support of the Outreach team.”

Helping our tenants get into training and employment is a really important way for KNH to help communities be successful. To find out how we can help YOU, email outreach@knh.org.uk or call 01484 221569
