“Global Groove” takes place on 28 September at the John Smiths (previously Galpharm) Stadium.

Featuring hip hop, Indian, modern, capoeira, flamenco, Soca, African, ballroom, belly dance and Cuban salsa, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. And not only will the audience be asked to vote for their favourite dancers, they'll also have the chance to learn a few moves themselves.

The event is being organised by a group of staff from KNH, who are helping to raise funds for Forget Me Not Trust, which is KNH's charity of the year for 2012.

Inspired by the power of dance during a trip to Cuba, the staff members wanted to bring a taste of what they’d seen to Kirklees to raise money for this very important cause. They have joined forces with The Lindley Group, Connect Housing, a number of local organisations, dance schools and talented performers from around the area, bringing everyone together under the name of Impact2Inspire.

Richard Mitchell, Community Fundraiser for Forget Me Not, explains: “Support from the local community and organisations are vital for the Hospice to enable our Care Team to deliver the care and support to the children and their families. The Hospice is in its early years, currently delivering care and support to almost 50 children in their own homes, with the Hospice building being opened in the very near future.”

Anthea from Impact2Inspire, said: “It’s going to be an amazing night of dance and other entertainment with special VIP guests such as Huddersfield Giants and Miss India UK finalist, so I hope KNH and the people of Kirklees really get behind it and support it – they’ll have a night to remember and will be helping the Hospice at the same time.”

Tickets are only £7 for adults and £5 for children with special discounts for families and groups.
