The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list is an annual ranking of Britain's employers and is widely acknowledged as the most searching and extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the UK.

The scores and ratings used to compile the lists are based on an extensive staff survey that identifies how they feel about their company’s leadership and management, their colleagues, their own sense of wellbeing and growth, and how much the company gives back to the community.

This was the first year KNH had undergone a Best Companies’ review, and as well as coming 90th in the top 100 list, KNH was also recognised as ‘one to watch’ in the Best Companies Accreditation Scheme, which identifies organisational excellence. The company has also recently been awarded the Investors in People Gold standard.

KNH Chief Executive, Simon Rogers, said: "Both the Best Companies and Investors in People schemes help us identify what we're doing well as an employer, but more importantly, what we need to improve to make sure our staff feel supported, motivated, valued and able to make a positive difference, and provide the best possible service.”

Dave Harris, Chair of the KNH Board, added: “Because we provide vital services to local people, including some of the most vulnerable in Kirklees, it’s essential that staff are involved in influencing our approach and feel positive about their work. I hope this national recognition also gives our customers – and the organisations we work with – confidence that we are doing all we can to make sure our staff are supported to deliver excellent services.

“We know there is more progress to make but this is an extremely positive response and my thanks go to all our staff who make this such a great place to work.”
