Over the last few weeks they have collected non-perishable food items for the Welcome Centre in Huddersfield, which supports people in crisis and vulnerable people who have been referred to them for support.

The residents also decided that instead of sending Christmas Cards to everyone in the scheme, they would just send one to display in the communal lounge. The money that would have been spent on cards was donated to the Welcome Centre. The total raised was £100.00.

Dave Sanderson, Scheme Co-ordinator for the schemes said: “This is the second time this year we have supported local charities and I have been overwhelmed with the generosity of residents from the schemes and their donations”.
