Long time council tenant Bessie Barber from Deighton is celebrating a special birthday this week.
Mrs Barber, who has lived in her current home for 33 years, turns 100 on Saturday.
Bessie (centre) with her friends from the Keldregate Tenants and Residents Association
A former milliner, she and her late husband Ernest moved to Deighton from Fartown in 1977, and she has lived in the same house ever since.
The independent centenarian is still an active member of her tenants and residents association and will be celebrating her special day among friends at a party at her local club.
To mark the occasion, her housing officer, Cecile Hanson, presented Bessie with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH).
Cecile said: “Mrs Barber is a wonderful lady, a fantastic customer, and everyone in the local housing team wishes her a very happy birthday.”
