Release Date: 17-Nov-2015
Our board of directors has appointed a new chief executive to take over when current CEO Simon Rogers retires next month.
Liz Cook will join KNH in mid-February. She is currently Chief Housing Officer at Leeds City Council and has over 28 years’ experience in housing at a number of councils and housing-related bodies.
KNH provides housing and neighbourhood management services to more than 23,000 tenants and residents living in Kirklees Council homes. We have a strong track record of success, and were recently named as one of the Top 100 not for profit companies to work for.
Dave Harris, chair of the KNH board, said: “Following a lengthy and testing recruitment process, the panel was very pleased to have been able to appoint someone of Liz’s calibre, experience and skills.
“These are very challenging times for social housing, and I’m confident that Liz will provide the expertise and leadership needed to overcome those challenges. We’re very much looking forward to working with her.”
Speaking about her new role, Liz said: “KNH is highly regarded both locally and in the housing sector as a result of what it has achieved over the past 13 years. I’m delighted to be joining such a strong organisation, and I want to make sure that we do even more in the future.
“Providing quality homes and services in successful communities will continue to be our main priorities, and I look forward to working with staff, tenants and all of KNH’s partners to help achieve them.”
Liz succeeds Simon Rogers, who is stepping down after more than 36 years in social housing, including the last 26 with KNH and the Council, half of that as KNH Chief Executive.
During that time, Simon has overseen the completion of a £250m investment programme and steered the company to its highest levels of tenant satisfaction and its lowest levels of rent arrears and empty homes, while making year on year efficiency savings. He is looking forward to pursuing his interests in coaching and leadership development.
