A new advice and information service for council tenants living in the Newsome, Primrose and Taylor Hill areas of Huddersfield started this month.

The housing surgery is run by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) and will be held at the KTFRA Offices, St Johns Avenue, Newsome formerly the Housing Office, every Tuesday from 12pm to 2pm.

Estate management staff will be on hand to provide help and advice with housing, estate or other related issues that people want to talk about: for example, rent, repairs, council tax, benefits, street-lighting, neighbour problems, litter, potholes, and so on.

The new surgery will be a valuable resource for anyone who finds it difficult to get to KNH’s town centre office. In addition there are Credit Union facilities available at the KFTRA Office provided by Castle & Minster.

Customers can also contact housing staff by phone or request a home visit if they prefer.
