  • What is the problem?
    e.g. Are the hinges loose or broken?
  • Is the lock catching properly?
  • Where is it sticking? Handle edge or hinge edge
  • What is the extent of the damage?
  • Is the frame loose or damaged?
  • How did the damage occur?
  • Is the property secure?
    i.e. can the door be locked or bolted.
  • Is temporary boarding required?

  • If damage was caused by vandalism or burglary get a police crime number
  • If damage was caused deliberately or by carelessness, you will normally have to pay for the work
  • If it is considered to be an emergency the repair will be carried out by the next day or within 2 hours if there is a risk of danger to life or serious damage to property.
