Community Grants
Community Grants of up to £500 are available to any community group that operates in or benefits KNH estates and the communities that we manage

KNH Excel Community Grant
You can apply for a community grant online, but if you’d like more information or advice on how to write a strong
application please contact the Excel team.
Criteria for grant applications
You will be eligible for a KNH Excel community grant if your project has a beneficial effect on your community and you meet the following conditions.
- Will show clear benefits for people living on and around KNH estates
- You have not received a grant for the same or similar project within the last 3 years
- No one else has already applied for a grant relating to your project
- In both conducting your general activities and planning and delivering the project for which you require our help, you or your group does not practice unlawful discrimination against any individual or social group protected under the Equality Act 2010.
- If you are an individual applying on behalf of a community group you will need to clearly demonstrate that your community supports your application and that you have support from a mainstream service or local community group willing to administer funds.
What will not be funded?
- Party Political Activities
- Activities where the primary purpose is to promote religious beliefs
- Projects for personal profit
- Social trips or holidays (but social activities that have the primary purpose of bringing individuals or groups together to share in a learning experience, build mutual understanding and respect or divert community members away from anti-social activity, will be considered).
- Ongoing running costs
- Retrospective applications
- School activities that clearly fall within the national curriculum
- We will not fund salaries, however consultant fees and sessional workers may be considered
