Join your Housing Advisory Board

board room
In April, housing services delivered by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) will transfer to the Council.

As part of this transfer a new Board will be established to oversee the delivery of housing management and reinvestment activities for council housing across Kirklees. As a board member you will support tenant focussed decisions by ensuring the voice of tenants and leaseholders (‘Tenants’) is put at the heart of council housing services in Kirklees.

Board Members will:

•    Be committed to inclusively represent all Tenants of Kirklees
•    Be able to see the bigger Kirklees picture understanding that places and communities are diverse and that needs are different
•    Adopt an approach that is fair, honest, and friendly
•    Have great communication skills in terms of listening to others and the confidence to participate in discussions
•    An ability to make effective decisions based on the facts presented
•    A desire to improve and change housing services for the better
•    A commitment to be present and to support other Board Members

We are particularly keen to hear from Tenants who reflect communities that are currently unrepresented in this type of work for the Council.  This includes people from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) groups, Young People under 25 years) and people living with a learning or physical difficulty or disability etc.

We are looking for up to six Tenant members to join this Board. The term of office for each Board member is up to 3 years and will run from 1st April – 31st March each year

Further information and application forms are enclosed above. Please return completed forms to KNHGovernance.Team@knh.org.uk

Alternatively, you can complete the form online at https://bit.ly/3scNFKa

All applications have to be with us by 5pm on 9 April 2021

The post of Board Member is voluntary but travelling and out of pocket expenses are paid
