The properties, on Sycamore Avenue and Leymoor Road are brand new high-quality two-bedroom houses, the first council homes developed in Kirklees since 2011.
Joanne Bartholomew, Cheif Operating Officer for KNH said, "We are really pleased to have helped deliver these fantastic new council homes which offer state of the art features such as electric car charging points and Wi-Fi video doorbell and CCTV and remotely accessible heating controls.
"In addition to providing great homes for tenants, the project has also added social value and created jobs locally as it was developed through an Efficiency North framework. This means that Kelsey Construction covered the costs of employing KNH Property Services technical and trade apprentices who worked on the development.
"I would like to thanks each and every one of you who has been involved in the development".
Jane Derrick, a tenant in Sycamore Avenue said:
“The house is absolutely beautiful. I hope more families get to have this kind of house. It’s a great place and a great way to live for me and my family and has made a real difference to our lives.
“One of the biggest attractions for me was the security and the lighting, I am severely visually impaired so having great lighting inside and out, and the CCTV cameras and doorbell, which I can operate on my iPad are fantastic for me.
“The environmental features of the house are also great. Having a bird and bat house to encourage nature in urban areas, and a water butt to recycle water is a brilliant idea and a perfect addition to my garden!"
